Novation And Aphex Twin Announce New Hardware Synth

The announcement of the AFX Station follows the unveiling of a number of teaser posters earlier this month

Novation and Aphex Twin have announced a new hardware synth called the AFX Station.

The product is a custom-modded version of Novation’s mono synth the Bass Station II, with an added ‘AFX Mode’. The AFX Mode was initially part of a firmware update last year, which was originally added in April 2019.

Amongst the new synth’s added features is a set of parameters loaded to each key of the synth, which means every key has a different sound, fixed duration envelopes and extended sub-oscillator control. There are also 128 new patches, a new purple design with the famous AFX logo, and a new editor to easily manage layers.

The announcement of the AFX Station follows on from a series of teaser posters being unveiled in London, Berlin, Los Angeles and Bristol earlier this month.

The Bass Station II AFX will retail at £333 and is available now.
