Northgate Folk Festival in Chester has announced details of its 2024 edition, which takes place at the city’s Alexander’s Live venue this August.
The second edition of the event will be headlined by London duo Stick In The Wheel, reflecting the organisers Choir Of Outsiders’ desire, as they put it, to "champion forward-thinking artists forging their own paths in traditional music".
Elsewhere, the lineup features Goblin Band (who were recently the subject ofan in-depth tQ feature), north eastern musician Frankie Archer, multi-disciplinary Massachusetts artist Mary Elizabeth Remington, and a number of rising artists, including eleven-piece Manchester collective Brown Wimpenny and queer folk trio Craven.
This year’s festival is also set to feature dance displays from Bristol drag king Molly No-Mates, the Cotswolds’ Kinnerton Morris Men, and the Clerical Error Morris Dancers.
Northgate Folk Festival will take place on August 24, 2024. Find more information here.
