Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds Share New Song, ‘Frogs’

It's the second track to be unveiled from forthcoming album 'Wild God'

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds have released a new song, ‘Frogs’, which is the second track to be unveiled from forthcoming album, Wild God.

The new cut was the first to be written for the upcoming record, according to a press release. Its lyrics reference the Biblical tale of Cain’s slaying of Abel. You can watch a lyric video for the track below.

In a statement, Cave said: “The sheer exuberance of a song like ‘Frogs’, it just puts a big fucking smile on my face.”

Originally announced in March, Wild God features 10 cuts and was produced by Cave together with Warren Ellis. The former began writing it on New Year’s Day 2023, with recording sessions featuring the full group following later in Provence and London.

Earlier this month, Cave and his band shared the first instalment in a series of behind the scenes videos capturing the making of the album.

The band will follow the album’s release with a tour of the UK and Europe through September, October and November.

Bad Seed / PIAS will release Wild God on August 30, 2024.
