Nick Cave Shares Cover Of Édith Piaf’s ‘La Vie En Rose’

It appears on the soundtrack for new Apple TV+ show 'The New Look'

Nick Cave has covered Édith Piaf’s classic song ‘La Vie en rose’.

His English-language version of the French standard, featuring lyrics by Mack David, appears on the Jack Antonoff-produced soundtrack for new Apple TV+ show The New Look, which debuted on the streaming platform earlier in February. Some of Antonoff’s Bleachers bandmates also play on Cave’s cover of the song, with Evan Smith and Zem Audu featuring on saxophone, and Mikey Freedom Hart taking care of synths. You can listen to the cover above.

Currently in its first series run, comprising five episodes, The New Look depicts Christian Dior in Paris after World War II, when he created his fashion line. Antonoff was enlisted to produce the soundtrack, with Lana Del Rey and Perfume Genius among the other artists joining Cave to contribute vocal turns.
