At a live performance in Melbourne last Saturday, Nick Cave suggested a new album might be on its way.

According to Australian publication The Music, he revealed to the crowd “We’ve really nearly finished a new record, I would say, and it’s an amazing thing in my opinion. I’m very, very excited about it.”

This album will be his first since 2016’s Skeleton Tree.

Last year, he satisfied longtime Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds fanatics by launching Red Hand Files, a site where people can write in and ask the band questions, to which Cave responds with eloquent answers. He also wrote a letter to Brian Eno, which revealed his decision to play in Israel in 2017 was a "principled stand against those who wish to bully, shame and silence musicians."
