Nick Cave And Debbie Harry Share Jeffrey Lee Pierce Cover

The duo have reinterpreted 'On The Other Side', a track that Pierce performed only live a few times

Nick Cave and Debbie Harry have recorded a new cover of a song by Jeffrey Lee Pierce.

The original track, ‘On The Other Side’, was never officially released and was performed live by Pierce, who died in 1996, only a few times. In addition to Cave and Harry’s vocal, the cover features Cave on piano, synths by Warren Ellis, guitar by Cypress Grove, and Guido Benigni on bass. You can listen to the new version of the song above.

‘On The Other Side’ marks Cave and Harry’s fourth joint cover of Pierce’s work, and will appear on The Task Has Overwhelmed Us, the forthcoming fourth instalment of The Jeffrey Lee Pierce Sessions Project series. The two artists have contributed to each previous entry in the series, starting with 2009’s We Are Only Riders.

Glitterhouse will release The Task Has Overwhelmed Us on September 29, 2023.
