Public Imitation Ltd: Levene & Lydon Shows Clash

Former PiL guitarist plays tribute show coinciding with Lydon's tour of the US

Keith Levene, former member of Public Image Ltd, made a surprise live appearance at the 100 Club in London on April 15. The gig coincided with John Lydon starting his tour of the US with the current incarnation of PiL.

Lydon was quoted in the March issue of The Stool Pigeon saying he would never work with Levene again for personal reasons and Jah Wobble for financial reasons.

Levene played several PiL songs with tribute band Public Imitation Ltd, including ‘Poptones’, ‘Public Image’ and ‘Swan Lake’. The night was part of a release party for No Future , a tribute to the Sex Pistols, The Clash and The Damned. A source at the gig said that Levene "beamed through the whole thing."
