Public Enemy Fans Raise $50,000 For New LP

Supporters invest in new album

Public Enemy have raised over $50,000 from fans to help finance the recording of their new album.

The rap group are using fan funding engine SellaBand to raise money to make their new LP, and with a record breaking sum already raised, seem certain to reach their target of %250,000 by the new year.

SellaBand CEO Johan Vosmeijer said: "We are both pleased and humbled by the incredible support that people are currently showing.

“Our collective intention is to go where no one has gone before. Two weeks after their arrival, Public Enemy has become the first band in the history of SellaBand to go beyond US$50,000. Once again Chuck D is leading the way and showing fellow artists of all levels that fan funding is a viable choice."
