Jarvis Cocker Wipes Arse With News Of The World

Defunct rag dissed at T In The Park

Jarvis Cocker led a cheering crowd at the T In The Park Festival in an attack on the News Of The World, pretending to clean his bottom with the final edition of the paper during Pulp’s headlining set. According to Clash, Cocker made a play on his band’s track ‘Do You Remember The First Time?’, and asked the crowd to remember the last time that the tawdry scandal sheet was published. Pretending to use the newspaper as loo roll, he said "that’s the only thing that piece of shit has been good for in 168 years". The band then played ‘Disco 2000’. Introducing ‘Common People’, Cocker dedicated it to the Scottish people for voting in the SNP at their recent elections.
