The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas has revealed that the band have nearly finished writing their fourth album.
The singer told XFM that the writing process had taken longer than anticipated as various members of the band had been pursuing their own solo projects.
"We’re supposed to have done it already, but it got pushed back", he said.
"We worked on it for months, we have most of the songs written. It’s just a question of getting all five dudes in the room."
Speaking about the sound of the new songs, he revealed he wanted it to "sound like Thin Lizzy, but if they could peer into the future and have 80s melodies.
"Like a super-tight late-70s rock band but with a-ha moments, if that makes sense."
