Mercury Shortlist Streamed Live & Our Predictions

We've drawn up our predicted shortlist - what's yours?

Hark! It is nearly time for the Mercury Music Prize 2011 shortlist to be revealed. And this year, you can watch it all unfold before thine very eyes, as the nominations event will be streaming live over at Barclaycard’s official Facebook page. While predicting which 12 albums will make the final cut is often a fools errand, we at The Quietus have decided upon the dozen LPs we think will make the list – even if they wouldn’t necessarily find a place on our hallowed Jovian Bow Shock award.

Our predictions are:

Adele – 21

Elbow – Build A Rocket Boys!

Friendly Fires – Pala

Gil Scott-Heron and Jamie XX – We’re New Here

The Horrors – Skying (Or Cat’s Eyes; we certainly expect to see Faris represented in some form)

James Blake – James Blake

Katy B – Katy On A Mission

Metronomy – The English Riviera

PJ Harvey – Let England Shake

King Creosote & John Hopkins – Diamond Mine

Tinie Tempah – Disc-Overy

Wild Beasts – Smother
