EMA Announces Album Release Date

Ever since The Quietus heard the brilliant track ‘Kind Heart’ by EMA a few weeks ago, we’ve been watching eagle-eyed for any news on when her album will be released. Thankfully, we now know that her debut LP Past Life Martyred Saints will be released on May 9.

Talking about her sixteen minute opus/cover of the Robert Johnson blues track ‘Kind Heart’, EMA (aka Erika M. Anderson) said: “I wanted ‘Grey Ship’ to change fidelity in the middle of the song. I imagined it being like when Dorothy opens the door to Oz and the whole world turns from black and white to technicolour.” Check it out for yourself using the SoundCloud player below.
