Damon Albarn To DJ At Rough Trade For World Cup Semi Finals

Former Blur singer to perform in-store DJ set

Damon Albarn will provide a DJ set at Rough Trade East on July 7 for the World Cup semi finals.

Over the next few weeks, Africa Express and Rough Trade have joined forces to bring a glut of live performances and DJ sets for the tournament, with matches being played out on giant live screens and appearances from Albarn, Cheikh Lô and Muntu Valdo amongst others.

Lô and Valdo will perform live sets to take place in the half hour before kick off as well as at half time and after the final whistle. Other artists set for live appearances include Afrika Boy and M3NSA & Richy Pitch.

DJs, meanwhile, will mix commentary into their live sets, with Albarn, Honest Jons, Philipe Cohen-Solal from The Gotan Project, El Guincho and French duo Jamaica set to take part.
