Thurston Moore has unveiled a new single with an anti-gun theme. Titled ‘Cease Fire’, you can listen to it above.
"Guns are designed to kill and we, as non-violent human beings, are against the killing of any person or animal," Moore says. "The song is also about the power of love, in all its freedom of choice. A power that no gun can extinguish as love will rule always. Melt down your guns and kiss your neighbour."
The track was recorded in London last year with his band, which is made up of Deb Googe, James Sedwards and guest drummer Jem Doulton. Much of Moore’s work will be documented soon in a new book by Nick Soulsby, called We Sing A New Language – The Oral Discography of Thurston Moore. Billed as an oral discography of Moore’s career, it’s out on March 13.
‘Cease Fire’ is out now and you can read our recent catch-up with Thurston Moore here.
