Constellation will release a new album from Rebecca Foon’s Saltland project at the end of next month.
A cellist and composer, Foon, also part of Esmerine and a former member of Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra, explores issues surrounding climate change on this new album, entitled A Common Truth. You can hear ‘Light Of Mercy’, a gorgeous, cinematic cut lifted from the album, above.
The issues at the centre of the album are very close to Foon’s work, as founder of the Peruvian-based rainforest conservation charity Junglekeepers, and as co-founder of Pathway to Paris, an international concert series bringing together musicians, writers and environmental activists to help raise consciousness of climate change.
‘Light Of Mercy’ features backing vocals from Ian Ilavsky, while the album itself features contributions from Warren Ellis on four of the album’s instrumental tracks. A Common Truth out on March 31.
