New Order have announced details of their much-anticipated first record on the mighty Mute label. It’ll be their first proper studio album for a decade, and will be called Music Complete – ‘oooo’, the people cry, might it be their last? Or is it a typically oblique statement, brimming with a cheeky self-deprecating arrogance? The rascals. The 11-track record features Bernard Sumner, Stephen Morris and, for the first time since 2001, Gillian Gilbert, alongside Tom Chapman and Phil Cunningham. Two tracks feature production by Tom Rowlands of the Chemical Brothers and another some tinkering by Stuart Price. We’re told that "where the group has previously pushed toward electronics or guitars, here the two are in balance" and Peter Saville did the art, of course. You can pre-order the record here and listen to a sampler above – a sampler that suggests ‘bangers’.
