With the UK and much of the world under lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Manchester International Festival has launched its MIF Live programme, which will see a number of past sets streamed online in addition to weekly talks and behind-the-scenes insights.
Kicking off proceedings this Friday (April 17), the festival will be streaming one of the shows that New Order played as part of the 2017 programme. That year, the band teamed up with artist Liam Gillick to present ‘So it goes…’, a series of special concerts at Manchester’s Old Granada Studios which saw them rework much of their past material with the help of an additional synth ensemble.
The set, which also formed the basis for a live album released last year by the band, will be streamed in full from 7.30pm BST via the MIF YouTube channel. It will be available to watch for 24 hours only after the stream, while further additions to the MIF Live programme will be announced weekly via the festival’s website.

New Order are scheduled to head out on a co-headline tour with Pet Shop Boys around North America this September.
