Mogwai have announced details of a new album, entitled Every Country’s Sun, with lead single ‘Party In The Dark’ available to stream above now.
The new album sees the band join once again with producer Dave Fridmann, for the first time since 2001 album Rock Action, with ‘Party In The Dark’ offering a second insight into the album’s direction following the previous premiere of opening track ‘Coolverine’.
The band recently performed the new album in full at Primavera Sound in Barcelona. Writing in our review of the festival, Brian Coney said "the material bounds with purpose and spirit, depth and intelligence, quiet triumph and (particularly toward the end) emphatic weight, promising a record of cleverly-woven instrumentalism that slays and sates in remarkable unison."
Mogwai will headline Festival No. 6 in Portmeirion on September 8, with further shows planned for London’s Brixton Academy and Glasgow’s SSE Hydro in December. Every Country’s Sun is scheduled for release on September 1, with a single release scheduled for ‘Party In The Dark’ and new B-side ‘Eternal Panther’ on August 25.
