MOA PILLAR — And the Moon Stopped from ARKTK on Vimeo.
Next month, Russian producer Moa Pillar releases his second album, Hymns, for the Karelian label Full Of Nothing, of whom we are big fans here at tQ. Premiering above, ahead of the release of that album, is the video for ‘And The Moon Stopped’.
The beatless track takes in warped vocal samples and broken sonics that at times recall the vapourwave madness of Oneohtrix Point Never and at others, the more abstract output of labels like PAN. Hymns follows on from Moa Pillar’s 2015-released debut, Humanity. Moa Pillar is Fedor Pereverzev, with his new album offering up five tracks bringing together divergent sounds of dark ambient, folk elements and techno. As Pereverzev explains: "my music is all about energy, no physics, it’s about the spirit".
This second album comes seven years after he first emerged in the Russian electronic music scene with a number of EPs first seeing him establish himself amongst a number of other producers ahead of his debut album in 2015. Hymns is out on July 26 and can be pre-ordered here.
