In March, Invada will release a new album from Swiss, Bosnian-born accordion player Mario Batkovic, and above we are giving you a first chance to check out the video for a track from it called ‘Semper’.

The video captures Batkovic playing the track live with his accordion in a dark, lengthy tunnel, bringing to the fore his skill as a player of the instrument.

Geoff Barrow, who heads up Invada, immediately invited Batkovic to support his band Beak> on their 2015 tour after hearing his music, and then subsequently signed him up to the label. This album is the first result of that signing, with Barrow having worked in the studio alongside Batkovic, encouraging him to take in new ways of producing music. "I wanted all of the instruments breathing, air noises and the sounds of flapping of claps to be audible, so the handicaps of the accordion can be transformed into benefits, creating a new sound," says Batkovic of his work producing the album.

The self-titled album is out on March 17 and you can keep up with Batkovic’s live dates here.
