After a sold-out run of the first issue last May, London based print magazine See You Mate has launched its second volume. Fully illustrated, and in full colour, the zine aims to offer insight into the burgeoning music scenes of London and beyond, as well offer an alternative history of popular music far removed from the typical ”punk was year zero” diatribe.
Headed up by an interview with Snapped Ankles on their new album Stunning Luxury, it also features over-enthusiastic deep dives into the music of Jockstrap, Lice and Les Rallizes Denudes.
The zine’s release was supported by a packed-out launch party at Brixton’s Windmill, headlined by London synth-pop hotshots PVA, where the likes of Water Baby, Legss and Avice Caro also performed.
Run by journalist Cal Cashin and visual artist Hannah Woollam, See You Mate vol.2 is available online, and in a handful of record and book shops.
