London Gets New 3,000-Capacity Venue

New 3,000-capacity venue Magazine London is to open next summer

London is getting a new 3,000-capacity multi-purpose venue called Magazine.

Started by the team behind Printworks, the space, which will be located at the Greenwich Peninsula overlooking the Thames, will be used for parties, exhibitions, gigs, conferences and a range of other events. There are also plans to build a 7000-person outdoor festival and events site.

"Magazine London fits superbly with what we’re doing on Greenwich Peninsula: creating a new London underpinned by creativity, a community with culture and entertainment at its heart," said Richard Margree, who is CEO of Knight Dragon, the property company that is overseeing the land,

The site will be built from scratch with construction set to begin early in the new year. Plans are currently in place for it to open sometime in summer 2019.

The new venue follows on from other good news for London clubbers when new 24-hour club space FOLD opened close to Canning Town earlier this year.
