Les Savy Fav will rush-release their new album Root For Ruin today after it leaked online.
The album had originally been scheduled for release on September 13, but will now be available digitally from later on today.
In a scheme The Quietus isn’t quite sure will work, the band have also set up a page on their website asking fans who illegally obtained the album to donate money to the group.
"OK, so you got our leaked record. At least now you know how awesome it is," a message from the group says. "We’re sure you really just are desperate for a way to pay us for the thing.
"Here – donate some cash to us and be free of guilt – for the record. Pay extra and your also forgiven for sex sins and stuff AND we’ll tell Jesus to send you cookies."
Fans who decide to cough up some cash will also receive the alternative "leaked" artwork for the album.
