Leonard Cohen could be releasing a new studio album next spring, according to reports online. The excellent Leonard Cohen Files website has the news, which was sparked by an interview with Cohen’s friend Alberto Manzan in which he said a new record from the Canadian artist could appear as early as October 2011. A statement was later issued from official sources saying it will actually be out in spring 2012. More interestingly, there was talk of potential titles and lyrics. These include ‘Born In Chains’, ‘A Street’, ‘Darkness’, ‘Love’, and ‘Feel So Good’. The latter apparently features the line "Feels so good, not to love you like I did. It’s like they tore away my blindfold and they said, we’re gonna let this prisoner live". Another track ‘Lullaby’ would tie nicely with the recent News International farrago: "Though they twist the news and the world believes, we will live our truth, be it on our knees."
