Earl Sweatshirt, the youngest member of the OFWGKTA hip-hop collective and voice behind 2010’s Earl album – the best and most promising transmission from the Odd Future camp to date – has posted an apparently new track on his website.
Earl has been absent from Odd Future for the last eighteen months or so, supposedly sent by his parents to school or youth camp somewhere miles from OF’s LA base. The resulting ‘Free Earl’ campaign mounted by fellow members of the collective and fans no closer to bringing him home, he missed out on 2011, the year when OF skyrocketed to fame off the back of Tyler, The Creator’s very patchy Goblin album, Twitter pronouncements and spacehopper onstage antics.
Last night he made an apparent return to Twitter and posted a link to an Earl Sweatshirt site, where you can stream new track ‘Home’ in full. Click here to listen.
