Nazar Self-Releases New EP, ‘Territorial’

Three new tracks are backed by remixes from Slikback, Scratcha DVA and DJ ADAMM

Nazar has self-released a new EP, Territorial, via his Bandcamp page.

The digital releases comprises three new tracks, including collaborations with gqom producer Citizen Boy and Príncipe affiliate A.k.Adrix, as well as remixes of the tracks by Slikback, Scratcha DVA (as Scratchclart) and DJ ADAMM.

"Territorial came from a urgent need to showcase unfiltered talent coming from me and my black peers connected [to] the continent," Nazar says in a statement on his Bandcamp page. "The primary purpose is to generate raw, unrestricted energy. The clubs are still on hiatus but not our drive to bend, push, cross and distorted genres and sub-genres of music that share same genetic material. At the end of day, we all are ‘omalã vo feka’ (which means sons of this land, Africa in Umbundu)."

The new EP follows on from a pair of releases that has Nazar has put out himself on Bandcamp this year, Supplies and +244, as well as his album Guerilla, which Hyperdub released in March.

Territorial is out now.
