Nazamba debuts on Kevin Martin's Pressure imprint with 'Vex'

The launch of Kevin Martin’s Pressure label earlier this year has brought with it three heavyweight releases thus far taking in music from Miss Red and Martin’s Flame 1 collaboration with Burial.

Next up for the label is a debut outing from dub poet Nazamba who hails from Kingston, Jamaica. Premiering above is a video for the 12"’s lead track, ‘Vex’.

The dread-filled, sub-rattling beat, which is sure to draw in any fans of past releases on Pressure, is produced by G36, a dub collective from Nagasaki, who will release their own EP in the future on Pressure. Nazamba, meanwhile, will follow this debut release with a full album alongside France’s O.B.F. soundsystem later this year.

On ‘Vex’, Nazamba takes aim at the political and economic establishment. The track comes backed with a more stripped-back dub version and both will be available on neon yellow vinyl which is limited to 500 copies. It’s released on September 14 but can be pre-ordered here ahead of that date.
