A couple of years back, the Throbbing Gristle Gristlism box was the must-have Christmas gift for all lovers of electronic sonic abrasion. Now in 2011, the Mute label have announced this year’s killer gift concept – a new Dirty Electronics Mute Synth. The instrument interestingly features no actual buttons or knobs, and instead is controlled by the connectivity of your own body which serves to complete electronic circuits when you touch its copper etchings. Watch the instrument in action below:

The specially crafted analogue synth will officially be released on the 14th of November and will be available from select shops including London’s Rough Trade East, and Berlin’s Schneiders Buero. You can also purchase the custom synthesiser online for the reasonable price of £60.
Considering this economical price why not purchase 10 of them, hook them up to some vintage tube amps, and see what sort of mind bending feedback you can produce. Sonic urban terrorism has
never been cheaper or more accessible.
