Lock up your tweeds and keep Mark E Smith away from empty glass bottles! Yes, Mumford & Sons are back with a new album. This afternoon, we were sent a trailer for the record, which you can see above. In it, Mumford & co jolly around in a sylvan British scene, having a caper with bunting and Ephemera From The Old Days, strewn liberally around. Yet, is Mumford’s idea strictly original? many of you will remember BBC 3 comedy song ‘Literally A Festival’, which took the piss out of Hooray In A Field bash the Secret Garden Party – you can see the similar ‘spend a grand in the local auction, rent a horse, surfeit of countrywear’ aesthetic inspired by The Field magazine August 1974 edition below. Have great minds thought alike?
