Morrissey Searches Fans For Meat, Bitten By Dog

Incidents thought to be unrelated

Committed vegetarian Morrissey has apparently been getting security to search his fans for meat products on the way into recent gigs. The Mirror reports that people attending his concert in Middlesborough last week. Moz fan Mel Stokes told the paper "As you went into the venue you were funnelled through to the top of some steps where they were carrying out searches. A member of the security staff then went through my bag and told me that they were checking to make sure that I was not carrying any meat products inside.

"I know that a few years ago Morrissey stopped a gig because someone was throwing sausages at him," Stokes said. "And they have removed burger vans from his gigs in the past, so it was obviously down to that again. [my partner] made a joke about hiding sausages in his trousers and the security guy said ‘I haven’t heard that one before’. I think it was just Morrissey being a diva – again."

The news comes hot on the heels of tidings that Morrissey was recently attacked by a dog: "Morrissey sustained hand and arm injuries recently after being attacked by a dog in England. Morrissey has attended hospital in Malmo (Sweden) where x-rays reveal a fractured index finger on his right hand. The cracked bone is at the tip of the finger. The injury will not affect upcoming shows." WAS SMUGGLING A TASTY PORK PIE!?
