Before the fame and the lawsuits, before the ‘colourful’ views on people not as pasty as he, before the antagonist attitude towards beef burger vendors parked outside gig venues, and before a lithe young flower-snapper became a barrel-chested boor, before all that there was Steven Patrick Morrissey, a young man at school in the North West of England. The film gets its premiere at Edinburgh Film Festival on Sunday 2nd July before going on general release in August.
