Earlier this year, Aphex Twin began uploading scores of old tracks to Soundcloud that had been laying around on hard drives and tapes under the casual username of ‘user48736353001’. Changing the account’s name a number of times, fans were, however, not fooled by the usual trickery of Richard D. James. Now, as FACT report, he has discovered another collection of old productions, apparently hundreds of them in fact, and is planning on uploading them to add to the stash already online.
The Soundcloud bio on his account, which currently hosts 228 uploads and is now titled ‘user18081971’, reads: “Im VERY happy to report that ive found loads more old tapes i never encoded or gave to anybody, been looking a lot on / off last few months and found around 7 tapes, most of which have 20+ tracks :))) Will upload/release soonish”. So, expect another huge wave of music coming your way to trawl through shortly then.
