DOWNLOAD: Mogwai – Remurdered

First taste of new album Rave Tapes, set for release next January

Rejoice and be glad: Mogwai have just announced a new album.

Rave Tapes is slated for release on January 20 2014. It’s their first full-length album since 2011’s Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will, though they’ve been busy in the meantime, most notably producing the soundtrack to the French zombie TV series Les Revenants, as well as putting out the Earth Division EP later in 2011, assembling the Hardcore… remix album A Wrenched Virile Lore and performing their Zidane soundtrack live for the first time.

The new LP was recorded at the band’s Castle Of Doom studio in their native Glasgow with producer Paul Savage and it seems like band member Stuart Braithwaite made good on his word from the last time we spoke to him: "we’ve probably got about thirty songs. I’m hoping there’s only going to be ten at the end – I don’t want any of this double-CD nonsense!". And now they’ve dealed out one of the album’s ten tracks (the tracklisting’s at the bottom of the page) – get hold of ‘Remurdered’ below:

The band will also be playing a huge run of shows following the album’s release, but before then there’s a one-off Cambridge date ahead of their headline set at the final ATP holiday camp festival. Have a look at the dates below and head to their website for tickets:
