Mogwai have announced via their website that they’re currently putting together a remix album of tracks from last album Hardcore Will Never Die But You Will. Entitled A Wrenched Virile Lore, it will be the band’s first full remix album since the heady days of 1998, and the Kicking A Dead Pig collection, which featured remixes of material from Young Team and Ten Rapid from an impressive cast of names including My Bloody Valentine, Surgeon, Arab Strap and Max Tundra.
A Wrenched Virile Lore looks set to feature a very decent spread of artists too: they announce that so far they’ve got additions from Tim Hecker, The Soft Moon, RM Hubbert, Robert Hampson, Zombi, Justin Broadrick, Xander Harris, Umberto and Cylob. Release dates will be announced soon, but in the meantime they’re giving away a remix of ‘How To Be A Werewolf’ by Not Not Fun/100% Silk’s John Carpenter acolyte and fan of all things synthetic and horror-ful Xander Harris.
