Mordern Technology, the drums and bass-guitar-focused duo of Chris Clarke and Owen Gildersleeve who formed last year, are set to launch their debut EP later this month at Dalston’s Victoria with a charity show for Mind and Shelter.
They will be supported on the night by tQ favourites Bruxa Maria, as well as Newcastle sludge rockers Lump Hammer, spoken word artist Christopher Nosnibor who’ll be playing alongside noise artist Cementimental for a one-off special, and DJs from the Hominid Sounds label and NTS radio show Black Impulse.
Modern Technology released their six-track debut EP earlier this year, with our JR Moores saying that they "purport to be a two-piece but ride into sonic battle more like a small army of amplifier-lugging heathens" in his review of the release for his monthly psych and noise rock column.
"Human Worth is a special fundraiser show, raising money for charities Mind and Shelter – two charities who are really helping to support our society’s most vulnerable at this politically and socially unsettled time," says the duo’s Owen Gildersleeve. "The night brings together a range of talented friends we’ve met through our music, all of which have a great social awareness, speaking out for the causes they believe in.
"The bands are travelling across the country to come play this event, from as far as Newcastle and York. So come along and help us raise as much as we can for these charities, whilst enjoying some of the finest noise currently out there!"
It all takes place on June 28. You can get tickets here or on the door where they’ll be available for a suggested donation of £5.
