Scottish quartet Modern Studies have announced details of a new album.
Titled The Weight Of The Sun, it’s preceded by lead track ‘Heavy Water’, which premieres above via tQ. The new record follows on from 2018’s Welcome Strangers album and a collaborative LP that the group put out with Tommy Perman last year called Emergent Slow Arcs.
"A lot of life was lived in the last two years," says the group’s Emily Scott. "Perhaps we’re showing a rawer, truer connection to things. I feel, and hope, when listening, that the overriding sense is joyful, though."
Fire Records will release The Weight Of The Sun on May 8. The band will follow its release with a live show in London at Dalston’s Victoria on June 9. Find more information on that show here.
