Mixcloud Launches Ticketed Live Stream Series

Flying Lotus and Róisín Murphy are amongst the artists taking part in the first run

Mixcloud is launching a series of ticketed live streams with forthcoming shows set to come from the likes of Flying Lotus, Róisín Murphy and Leon Vynehall.

Mixcloud is setting the series up with particular attention paid to establishing licenses with labels and publishers, so that DJs and live acts will be able to perform without interruption from copyright takedowns. This also means that rights holders will be paid if their music features in a set.

Lafawndah will kick off the series of streams on October 25, with Flying Lotus playing on October 31. Róisín Murphy is billed to perform on November 14 and Leon Vynehall will debut his new A Little More Liquid audiovisual show on November 21. Nas is also said to have an event planned for sometime in the future.

"Launching Tickets is our next step in helping artists and creators generate new income and building out a full-stack music platform, with creators at the core," Mixcloud CEO Nico Perez says of the project, which is currently being trialled with a small, select number of artists.

Mixcloud hopes to eventually bring Tickets to all Mixcloud Pro and Select users so that they can set up their own ticketed events. Artists, DJs and promoters who want early access to Tickets can register their interest via this form.
