Yesterday, Miss Kittin released a new four-track EP, Maneki Neko, out via wSphere. It picks out its title track from the double album Calling From The Stars she released earlier this year, which comes alongside a remix from Château Marmont and Acid Washed & La Mverte’s rework of fellow LP cut ‘Cosmic Love Radiation’. It also features an edit of ‘Maneki Neko’ from Hud, the winning entry from Beatport’s competition to have a remix featured on the EP – have a listen to that here.
As a primer for the record, we’ve got a first spin of one of the entries that fell just short of making it onto the EP, a remix from Commuter – who’s fittingly had one of his own tracks, ‘Electrostate Of Mind’, reworked by long-term Miss Kittin collaborator The Hacker – who pares the track down to the bare essentials, welding the vocals onto a stark Kraftwerk-esque beat and icy synth shards.
