Mike Paradinas Details New µ-Ziq Album, ‘Magic Pony Ride’

It follows Paradinas' recent 'Goodbye' EP released under the same moniker

Mike Paradinas has a new album on the way under his µ-Ziq alias.

Titled Magic Pony Ride, it follows on from the recent Goodbye EP, also released under the µ-Ziq moniker. Comprised of 12 tracks, the new album explores classic jungle and is Paradinas’ first LP of new material for his Planet Mu label since 2013. His daughter, Elka, features on two tracks, while another cut, ‘Galope’, pays tribute to his father who passed away a few years ago. Listen to the album’s opening track, ‘Magic Pony Ride Pt. 1’, just below.

Magic Pony Ride‘s release comes amid impending plans to reissue Paradinas’ 1997 breakthrough album as µ-Ziq, Lunatic Harness, to mark its 25th anniversary. Full details of that release through Planet Mu will follow in the coming months. In a statement, Paradinas said: "Magic Pony Ride was written as a kind of follow up to Lunatic Harness, at least in terms of genre and style. After mastering Lunatic for its reissue I went back to using breaks again on some newer tracks and this is the result!"

As well as the above-mentioned Goodbye EP, Paradinas also recently released the Goodbye Remixes EP, featuring reworks by Jlin, RP Boo and more.

Planet Mu will release Magic Pony Ride on June 10, 2022.
