Alongside his reissued re-imaginings (Intoxicated Man/Pink Elephants) of French lothario and inveterate drinker and smoker Serge Gainsbourg’s music, Bad Seeds drummer Mick Harvey has issued a short film on the process behind creating said albums. Directed by the man credited for bringing punk and reggae together in the UK, Don Letts, the clip explores Harvey’s initial love for Gainsbourg’s music through to the challenges he faced while translating the original lyrics. With the reissues being dropped today, now’s the time to acquaint yourself with Gainsbourg’s oft-overlooked back catalogue of obscure chansons. Regardez ici.
