This Friday, March 28, will see the release of Polish post-hardcore/jazz group Merkabah’s third album Moloch, out via Kraków label Instant Classic. It follows their 2011 debut, the live LP Lyonesse, and 2012’s A Lament For The Lamb, and sees them tempering their instrumental improvisations with sixties psychedelia and noise, as well as the titular Arameic god as inspirations: "We decided to view it both in its mythological and abstract aspects, as an allegory of evil, power, cult and sacrifice," say the band of the latter. The brilliant artwork, meanwhile, comes from the band’s drummer Kuba Sokólski – gaze in awe above.
We’ve got a first play of the album, which you can listen to in full below, and head to the label’s Bandcamp, where the album will also be available as a limited edition CD release, to pre-order.
