Membranes have reworked one of the key tracks from their 2019 album What Nature Gives…Nature Takes Away.
‘Breathe In / Breathe Out’ sees the post-punk outfit backed by a 26-person-strong choir. Above, you can watch a video for the track which features appearances from the band and fans, as well as the likes of Alan McGee, Brix Smith, Rowetta, and more.
"2020 was the year when breath took centre stage," Membranes have said. "From the coronavirus to Black Lives Matter, the most basic of human functions became the defining expression of everything. The song celebrates the power of breath and the right to breathe in an increasingly suffocating world. Because of this we remade the song to celebrate the power of voice and made the choir the key to the track."
‘Breathe In / Breathe Out’ is out now via Cherry Red.
