Butthole Surfers Members Join Melvins

Announce album, Hold It In, and tour of the US in autumn

Crack out the buttboards, it’s good news time: Melvins will be releasing a new album, Hold It In, via Ipecac Recordings on October 14, with a line-up boasting core members Buzz Osborne (who recently released a solo 10", This Machine Kills Artists) and Dale Crover alongside Butthole Surfers’ Paul Leary and JD Pinkus, report Metal Injection. (Take a look at Melvins covering Butthole Surfers in Chicago’s Humboldt Park last year.) They’ll be touring in support of the album in the States in October and November – head to their Facebook for full details.

Says King Buzzo of the record: "Hold It In is a refreshing piece of fiction in a boring world of fact and bullshit. Paul is one of the best guitar players I have ever heard and Pinkus has an outside-the-box type of approach to both guitar and bass that you just have to let it ride. I can’t believe this actually happened. I’m thrilled."
