David Byrne’s Meltdown

Anna Calvi, Brian Eno, Jonny Greenwood and more announced for the Southbank Centre festival

The David Byrne-curated Meltdown Festival has just announced its final lineup. This August at the Southbank Centre, you’ll be able to see Anna Calvi peform alongside a twelve-piece choir, a multi-speaker sound installation from Brian Eno, Jonny Greenwood performing his There Will Be Blood soundtrack with the London Contemporary Orchestra, the music of Nigerian synth funk pioneer William Onyeabor as performed by David Byrne, Sinkane, Joshua Redman, Money Mark, Pat Mahoney (LCD Soundsystem) and Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip), drone-metal druids Sunn O))) supported by Phurpa and more.

Among the additional festivities is a multitude of bike-related accommodations, among them a valet service and a "Bling Ya Bike" workshop. The festival runs two weeks from Monday August 17 to Sunday August 30. Look here for the full list of acts performing. You can buy tickets come Thursday.
