Melt Yourself Down Announce Third Album

'100% YES' sees the jazz group referencing British colonialism in India and the Grenfell tragedy

Melt Yourself Down have announced their third album, 100% YES.

The London jazz six-piece have so far shared two tracks from the album with vocalist Kush Gaya exploring the pitfalls of social media on the latest of them, ‘Every Single Day’. You can hear that track above.

Melt Yourself Down previewed the album last year with the release of ‘Boot and Spleen’, which took inspiration from the dark history of British colonialism in India. Elsewhere on the album, which follows on from 2016’s Last Evenings on Earth, the Grenfell tragedy is referenced on ‘Born in the Manor’.

"So much has changed in the world since we started writing in 2016” says the group’s Pete Wareham. "We couldn’t ignore any of it and this new music is borne from our feelings of extreme cultural restlessness."

Decca Records will release 100% YES on March 27. The band will tour the UK through April and May. You can find the full list of tour dates here.
