Maximum Joy Reform For Simple Things

Cult Bristol post-punk band will play first show in over 25 years

The latest addition to the line-up for this year’s Simple Things in Bristol is cult post-punk group Maximum Joy who are reforming to play their first show together in over 25 years.

Forming a pivotal part in Bristol’s music scene in the early eighties, the group’s sound was heavily influenced by the climate of the Thatcher era led by singer Janine Rainforth, while their output was limited to only a small number of releases including one album, Station M.X.J.Y, which was partly produced by Adrian Sherwood. Maximum Joy join the previously announced Skepta & JME, Battles, Savages, Wire, Factory Floor and many more. Simple Things takes place across multiple venues in Bristol from October 23-24. You can get tickets and check the full line-up here.
