Electronic gent Matthew Herbert has made ‘The Story’, a track constructed of samples of bits and pieces of contemporary media, available for free download on his website.
To make the record, Herbert sampled 140 titties worth of copies of The Sun, 70 grim gossip rags, an NME, a Madonna album, and a copy of Wallpaper. Ow. Not being afraid to cash in on that election in America, Herbert has made an edit of the track available for download today only.
The track is cut from Herbert’s forthcoming album There’s Me And There’s You, which apparently deals with "power and its abusers in the 21st Century. The lyrics tackle issues such as the Iraq war, torture, Guantanamo, Palestine, AIDS, climate change, the monarchy, and religion." That’s out on November 10th.
