Matthew Herbert To Rework Terry Riley

Herbert and Pantha Du Prince & The Bell Laboratory will be reinterpreting Riley's In C in October

Following on from our interview with Matthew Herbert yesterday, he, alongside Pantha Du Prince, will be reinterpreting minimalist composer Terry Riley’s landmark In C at The Barbican on October 4.

Herbert will be live-sampling and reworking Andre de Ridder’s stargaze collective playing segments of the piece, while Pantha Du Prince will be again collaborating with The Bell Laboratory, following this year’s excellent Elements Of Light album, for the performance. Both will be accompanied by visuals from the pioneering psych crew Joshua Light Show.

Head over to the Barbican website to get hold of tickets.
