WATCH: Matsuki Ayumu – Two Of Us

The Japanese songwriter premieres a new video

We’ve got a first look at a video from Matsuki Ayumu, whose new single ‘Two Of Us’ will be released by Ample Play Records (the label run in part by Cornershop’s Tjinder Singh and Ben Ayres) on August 18. The track is taken from Ayumu’s most recent album Terraforming (Alternative), and is an example of the melodic indie-pop that has seen him be described as the "Japanese Gruff Rhys".

The charming video for ‘Two Of Us’ is directed by Jaan Silmberg of Toronto’s Pistoltrixx Films, and it "sees civilisation change into a world of super heroes and pixellation – the best sleepover to celebrate the school holidays."

‘Two Of Us’ will be out as a AA-side single with another track from the album, ‘Do Hard Disks Dream Of Love?’. Get hold of it from Ample Play’s website on release.
