Matana Roberts will perform two solo saxophone shows in the UK this week.
The first will see them perform in London as part of The Roundhouse’s In The Round festival on Friday (April 26), on a bill that also includes Lonnie Holley and Theon Cross. The second comes on the following day (April 27) as part of Bristol New Music festival. That show will also see sets from Apartment House, and a collaboration between improv vocalist Maggie Nicols and drummer Dan Johnson.
The shows come off the back of Roberts’ latest entry in their acclaimed Coin Coin series last year, but they will not be drawing from that release for these shows. Instead, the gigs will see them perform entirely improvised solo sets. Tickets for the London show can be found here, while tickets for the Bristol performance are available here.
